FlyerFly is operated by Sandoval Luis Consulting LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company (“FlyerFly,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). FlyerFly values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the FlyerFly mobile application on iOS and Android (the “App”).
FlyerFly is a campus-focused platform designed for students to discover events, connect with clubs, and engage with their university community using school-issued email accounts.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account or use FlyerFly, we may collect:
School email address (used to verify eligibility and associate your account with a specific school)
Name and profile information (such as profile photo, bio, and school affiliation)
User-generated content, including:
Messages sent within the app
Clubs you create or join
Events you create
Event RSVPs
Videos uploaded when creating events (selected from your camera roll)
Profile photos
b. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, we may automatically collect:
Device information (device type, operating system, app version)
Log and usage data (such as features used and interactions within the app)
IP address and approximate location (derived from IP, not precise GPS)
c. Permissions
FlyerFly may request access to:
Camera roll / media library (only to allow you to upload a video when creating an event)
FlyerFly does not access your media unless you explicitly select content to upload.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Create and manage your FlyerFly account
Verify your school affiliation
Provide core app functionality (events, clubs, messaging, calendars, profiles)
Enable users to create and RSVP to events
Facilitate communication between users
Maintain campus-specific communities
Improve app performance and reliability
Ensure platform safety and security
Respond to support requests
Communicate important updates about the App or policies
Comply with legal obligations
3. Content Moderation & School Involvement
FlyerFly does not provide schools with direct access to FlyerFly systems or databases.
Schools do not have backend access to user data.
Schools do not have access to private messages.
Schools may report concerns or content they become aware of to FlyerFly.
All moderation actions are performed by FlyerFly administrators.
FlyerFly does not proactively monitor private messages. Content moderation occurs in response to reports, safety concerns, or policy enforcement needs.
FlyerFly acts as a service provider to support campus engagement and does not sell or monetize student education records.
4. How We Share Information
We DO NOT SELL your personal information.
We may share information:
With other users, according to your app activity (e.g., your profile, clubs you join, events you create or RSVP to)
With trusted service providers that help operate the App (such as hosting, authentication, and infrastructure providers)
This may include analytics providers such as Google Analytics for Firebase, which process usage data on our behalf to help operate and improve the App.
When required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or integrity of FlyerFly, users, or the public
Service providers are permitted to use information only to perform services on our behalf.
5. Analytics & Notifications
a. Analytics
FlyerFly uses Google Analytics for Firebase (Google Analytics 4) to understand how the App is used, measure performance, and improve features. Analytics may collect information automatically such as app interactions, device and operating system information, app version, approximate location (derived from IP address), and usage/session data.
We may also log custom in-app events (for example, viewing an event, RSVP actions, or video playback success/failure) and set non-identifying user properties (for example, a school identifier) to generate aggregated campus-level metrics.
FlyerFly uses analytics only for app functionality, performance measurement, and product improvement and not for third-party advertising.
b. Push Notifications
FlyerFly may send push notifications related to:
Event reminders
Account or security notifications
App functionality updates
FlyerFly does not send marketing or advertising notifications. You may control notification preferences through your device settings.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to operate the App and provide services.
a. Account Deletion
Users may delete their account directly within the App. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
When an account is deleted:
The authentication account is permanently removed
Profile information (name, email, profile photo) is deleted
The user is removed from event attendance lists and club memberships
b. Content Preservation & Anonymization
To preserve the integrity of campus event history:
Events created by a deleted user remain visible
The creator’s identity is anonymized and displayed as “Deleted User”
No personal information is shown publicly
c. Minimal Internal Safety Record
FlyerFly retains a minimal internal record for safety, abuse prevention, and legal compliance purposes. This record may include:
User ID (UID)
A hashed version of the user’s email address (server-generated; not plaintext)
School identifier
Account creation and deletion timestamps
This record:
Is not accessible to client apps
Is not shared with schools or third parties
Cannot be used to reconstruct user profile data
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
Delete your account and personal data
Object to or restrict certain data processing

8. Age Requirement and Children’s Privacy
FlyerFly is intended for users who are at least 16 years old.
We do not knowingly permit individuals under the age of 16 to create an account, therefore we do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a user under 16, we will delete the account and associated data.
9. International Users
FlyerFly operates in the United States. If you access the App from outside the U.S., your information may be processed and stored in the United States.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the App or by other appropriate means. Continued use of FlyerFly after changes means you accept the updated policy.
